As we progress through life, complain about the bad times, and rejoice the good sometimes we meet someone who shows us that our problems are minuscule compared to those of others.
This happened to me recently. Though I am a struggling artist and college student and am having difficulty finding a job, I now realize there are others who are having harder difficulties than I. The proof is on www.beheardshow.ning.com I ask that people check out the video The Struggle on there and check this guy out. I also ask you to join our cause and help those that REALLY need it. If you are a Victim Of The Industry please write me at voipresents@gmail.com so that I may get your story out and show others the pitfalls and traps of day -to- day life in America and the world as a whole. Together we can make a change.

Reading Dear Amy today.....

Today I was sitting at home while it was raining badly here in Georgia. I was kind of disturbed by the way this situation was handled by Amy. I think the response could have been done differently. This is the situation:

DEAR AMY: AFTER 21 YEARS OF MARRIAGE, MY WIFE INFORMED ME THAT SHE WOULD BE FILING FOR A DIVORCE. WE HAVE 2 BOYS, AGES 13 AND 15, AND THEY WERE DEVASTATED.
WE LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN, SO I HAVE RELOCATED NEARBY. MY DAY-TO-DAY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY SONS HAS BEEN DISRUPTED AT WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A CRUCIAL TIME.
OUT PARK-STYLE HOME ON 2 ACRES WILL BE GONE. OUR FINANCIAL FUTURE AS A FAMILY WAS RELATIVELY SECURE, BUT THAT WILL CHANGE. OUR SONS WERE DOING VERY WELL IN SCHOOL AND WERE BY ALL ACCOUNTS, HAPPY AND WELL ADJUSTED.
MY SOON-TO-BE-EX-WIFE REFUSED ANY MARITAL COUNSELING, IGNORING THE THREE OF US AND INSISTING THAT SHE WAS DOING WHAT WAS"BEST FOR US.
AMY, HOW CAN DIVORCE BE BEST FOR OUR FAMILY? IRONIC, REALLY, THAT SHE REFUSED ANY MARRIAGE COUNSELING. NOW SHE HAS THE BOYS AND HERSELF IN COUNSELING, AND I COULD USE IT- DEVASTATED DAD

I observed what Amy said and it seemed like she was telling the Dad to basically give up on the family thing and get on with his life and just be there for the boys and their events. Then she said something like the boys could actually use the counseling and yada-yada-yada.
If this was something that I would say: I would say, dad first of all divorce is something that happen and it is bad but you have to flip the script and try to recoop from it. As far the kids go, I think that you should get with your ex-wife and let her know (no strings attached) that it would be beneficial if both of you guys are in their lives together as they were growing up, but now together. It could be something like a joint visit. I think you guys should work it to where you should be FRIENDS out this whole divorce situation. I do feel like counseling is the answer but make sure you are not going there for a solution to keep you guys together and you are going there to find a way to move forward. Divorce can really affect kids in school so please keep them in counseling. See if you can go to a counseling session with the kids alone one day.

You guys let me know which response is sensible.....

Life's Lyrics Show today....

This is your girl Rydah Gurl, one of the hosts on Life Lyrics under your boy Be Heard. I just got done with the show to day and I have a lot of feelings about what went on.... Well We had Sircherry on the show and it was quite interesting. We talked about insecurities in a man and a woman , also talked about "What is the first thing a man do wrong, when approaching a woman?" I mean there was alot of things said but the one thing that stuck out to me was the fact that communication is almost dead in a relationship. I mean I have been with the same man for 11 going on 12 years and that is all I see us doing is communicating. We tell each other when we feel a certain way and also when something is going on inside that is not quite right. But for men and woman to say it is an issue in their relationship, I feel like that is something that should be worked on first before anything goes any further because if it goes any further then that it will stay that way.

I just wanted to thank Sircherry for spending time with us and enlightening us with presence and I would like to post a link about his book also that is for sale and I will be reading that book! Everyone if you haven't heard anything about the show. Check us out- www.blogtalkradio.com/BE-Heard- on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays!!!!

Thanks for listening ~Rydah~

NAKIA BENJAMIN FROM KBS:PEARL-Working on her album

NAKIA BENJAMIN INTERVIEW – SEPTEMBER 13, 2009 AT 6PM -8 PM – LIFE LYRICS SHOW.

Nakia Benjamin is the newest R&B Female sensation with Broadway, NC. She can hang with Latoya London’s and Beyonce’s in the industry. She has a soulful and sultry voice, but hit you from all angles. She is very smooth while singing and sexy all at the same time. Nakia is currently working on her album, but have released a couple of singles for a buzz. She signed to KBS: Pearl Entertainment, LLC and this will be her first album released under KBS. Keep your eyes and ears open for this woman because she is a “FORCE TO BE RECKEN WITH”. Check out her interview with Be heard Show Presents Life’s Lyrics Show with host Rydah Gurl and Karla.

LL: Nakia , tell us a little about yourself?

I am a 26 year old R&B artist with a talent of writing my own songs. I am from Broadway, NC , this town is very small if you blink when driving through it, you will have missed it.

LL: What type of singing background do you come from? Does anyone else sing in your family?

I come from a gospel background under the church musician that led my sister and I. Tell called us the “Benjamin Sisters”. I had it all man, shoulder pads and glitter (laugh). She had us doing everything, singing and dancing.

LL: Nakia you come from a state where a very talented singer named Fantasia Barrino. Do you feel any pressure when recording to have to fill or exceed her shoes?

Not really because we are 2 different artists and sounds. I saw her performance in Greensboro, NC in The Color Purple Broadway act.

LL: When did you start singing?

I started singing at 8 year old in the church. As I said I was under the gospel background.

LL: The female singers of today are coming from all different aspects are there any female artists out now or back then that influence you and did they help you to decide on your style?

Yes I would have to say that there are many different female artist and influence me. I would say one would be Faith Evans and another one Jasmine Sullivan if I had to actually name someone.

LL: Do you write your music? If so are you do you write from life lessons or experiences?

Yes I do write all of my lyrics. Some of my lyrics are from life experiences and others are from someone else experiences.

LL: Counselor is a callaboration with T.L.E.L.O, tell us how was it working with him and how did that come about?

TLELO is an awesome artist to work with. In Counselor, actually TLELO called me over to sing on two songs with him, he had me listen to both of them, and I chose Counselor and we wrote our verses and it was a hit in the making. We song the song and it was so intense because at that moment we were singing from issues that happened in our lives and it shows.

LL: Before you start recording, do you go back and listen to your older songs to get a taste of the flavor that you are working on?

Yes I do listen to my old songs and also I listen to the songs out today to make sure that I stay in with the now.

LL: What is it like working on your 1st CD?

Well it is a lot of work and a lot of time but I have the patience to get it done. You have to have the ear for the music because if it not hot it will show it in your music.

LL: Are you going to do some cover music on this album?

No I have no interest in doing cover music at this moment.

LL: What do you think about the R&B scene today?

I think that it is changing for the good and leaning toward the pop industry and that is something that I like because I like to give a variety to my fans. When you listen to my album I want you to hear every type of genre you are looking for when you are enjoying the sounds.

LL: Tell us about your song “Nice and Slow”.

Well the song Nice and slow is telling the man (because I am single) lets take it slow you know don’t rush into things and lets get to know one another.

LL: What if the person is not receptive to what you have to offer?

Well then, I have to tell him to keep it moving. There is no need to waste his time or my time either.

LL: Is there any one you would like to thank or say hello to?

I would first like to thank my KBS family and let you guys know I got love for you and be looking out for my album in 2010.

Thank you so much for interviewing with the Life’s Lyrics show. It has definitely been a pleasure. If you would like we can go on out with the show and hang out until the end of the show.

Sure why not! Thanks.

Be Heard Show

The Show has been taken over by the Mayor of Twin Cities . Hello Mayor

LP: What’s Happening!

BH: I see that you keep coming in and out of the chat room. Are you okay now?

LP: My PC will not let me branch out and let me do the matix thing in the chatroom but we are here on the horn so ya’ll make sure you all call in and listen to the show because this is very important and what’s happening Carolina Blew –the mixtape will be coming out on Tuesday, September 15th. You can get it anyways you can. You can pre-order the CD by calling 336-899-0841 If you can’t wait to get. But get it anyway you can. Let’s get it!

BH: I see you call yourself the mayor of the Twin Cities. How did you come up with that?

LP: Basically the twin city is Winston- Salem, NC for the ones that don’t know. Some call it Tre- 4. Originated from the Twin Cities. It was Winston and Salem then they both merged. Back in the day, I don’t actually know what year that was. I call myself the mayor not because I rap but don’t get it confused because there’s a lot of rapper. I call myself the mayor because I AM THE MAYOR, you hear the keys? (jingle, jingle).

BH: Oh! You have the keys to the city huh? You own those keys huh? (laugh)

LP: Yeah I own these keys out here.

BH: Okay, with that in mind, you came up with a lot of nice joints on your mixtape. Tell me a little bit about the “Hello Ladies” track?

LP: That’s one we basically came up with (I want to shout out to my brother PHOKUZ he did the production on that) and he was always making beats. When I hear the beat and I automatically hear the hook on it then ban there go another hit but basically. I put that out there for the ladies show then that theres no discrimination. Im in love with every woman. It was just giving back to the ladies. It is really a good “worker” no matter what age limit it is you can listen to it it has a good vibe. So I give back to the ladies because ya’ll buy those CD. I am always going to keep it real with ya’ll. Shout to all my ladies out there.

BH: With that in mind, I want you to take us into that “Hello Ladies” song.

LP: This is Hello Ladies and any kind of woman you are as long as you are a natural woman. Ya’Dig

(Song playing “Hello Ladies”)

BH: Okay I am back now with Lew Paradise. Lew you there?

LP: What it Dew.

BH: How do you feel the game is going now? You know how they feel that certain things should last for a certain time and after a while it should be over with. You knowhow Jay-Z put out DOA. How do you feel about that should you speak one it or let the man do his hustle?

LP: I will go with option B because I mean when you spend too much time with focusing on someone else how can you get yourself together. Remember the flat top, everybody wanted a flat top. Ok, what happened, people started wearing the flat top. Then the jerry curls and then stop wearing jerry curls. No matter if a rapper rap about being an eraser head. When it is played out, it is just played out on its own. I don’t see anything wrong with the game. Only thing I see wrong is how they holding me back because they know I am going to kill it!

BH: With that in mind you are killing it. What made you come up with Jordan’s on my feet? Tell me a lot about that?

LP: Shout outs to my boy Lil Chris with Jet Music / KBS Pearl E-N-T. You can sit in a room with 1000 producers and they have 1000 beats, if you don’t hear the hook then there is no song. Jordan’s on my feet is just telling the truth. It maybe late and I still have my JORDAN’S on.

BH: Rappin is about what you know. How long have you been rapping?

LP: Officially I have been rapping on CD since 2001. I was recording on cassettes tapes.

BH: Do you think Lew Paradise have matured since 2001?

LP: Man I have learned so much. Yes I have matured, I am not saying I am at my prime or anything. But I have matured since then when I started I was saying stuff. Now I rap about a lot of stuff. I want to shout out to my mother because just the other day she actually called me Lew Paradise.

BH: Speaking of tattoos, How many tattoos does Lew have?

LP:I cant tell you all of them, but I can say that I have one. Everyone have a tattoo song. I had to come with one but on a different level. (Tattoo Song Playing)

BH: Lew would you like to tell the fans how they can get in touch with you?

LP: You can contact me at 336-899-0841. Please leave a message or text me. Ringtones are on mxyer.com. Facebook and Youtube with the Dew it Big Video. I tell you what “Google Me”, Lew Paradise.

BH: As a courtesy we will give away a free ringtone to the 1st ten people. Please cop the album on 9/15/2009. “True Blue no Gang Member”.

BH: Tell me about “Words From the Heart”.

LP: Words from the heart are from the heart. I was talking to myself.

BH: Are you single?

LP: I am single, I have been filing single on my taxes every year.
