V-SO HOTT BIO
It all started with the beating of two sticks against a drum set and the playing of sweet melodies through piano keys that lead William Dana Sanders, also known artistically as V-So Hott, to the falling in love with music and everything it had to offer.
Practically born in the church to a single-parent home in Kalamazoo, MI. His mother had engraved music into his soul early on with her lead and background singing for the local church choir, and had him listen to the likes of Michael Jackson, The Isley Brothers, and the legendary Luther Vandross as a child. Upon meeting a musically inclined friend, Derek Cobbs, at church, V-So soon mastered his craft with the drums and piano, he continuously stuck with his newly found talent until reaching high school and then picking up the electric guitar. Eventually, he also learned acoustic and bass guitar and once reaching his senior year the life changing decision to become a producer arose with much motivation and excitement.
Listening to various artists such as Usher, Mariah Carey, R-Kelly and Beyonce began the beginning of his production career, but R&B and rap weren't the only tastes in music that fed his diverse appetite. Alternative rock made a grand impression also, with artists and groups such as Zack Wyld, Switchfoot, God Smack and Linkin Park taking music to another level for V-So.
Just listening casually to these impressionable artists wasn't the only factors that molded the young triple threat, also working with Bo Watson, who is a singer/songwriter for Midnight Star, co-producer and music director for Baby Face, Tony Braxton, Earth, Wind & Fire and many more, trained V-So and provided the preparation and the finishing touches to his production development…and soon his songwriting skills.
On his 21st birthday he packed his Mac computer, studio speakers, and 3 of his 7 guitars into his car leaving behind his family and church, and after driving 13 hours he stepped foot into the red clay of the music mecca, Atlanta, GA. The move to Atlanta was primarily to position and place himself around the people and places that could take him and his talents to new and successful heights.
His first encounter while being in Atlanta for a visit prior to his move was with Kory “KG” Griffin who worked at renowned Patchwerk Recording Studios and has many relationships throughout the industry. He vowed to take V-So to the next level soon making their friendship and business relationship grow instantly as he became V-So's manager. Through KG, V-So has met, worked with, and became great friends with Leslie Braithwaite, producer and mix engineer, who has just recently mixed Young Jeezy's entire album, “The Recession” and super producer, Oak, who's done work for Chris Brown, Pussy Cat Dolls and many more.
V-So's production is quickly soaring to new heights with upcoming artists such as Dolla and Hollyweerd with the placement of their vocals over his artistically made beats, and he stays in the studio constantly working with Steve-O, songwriter for Mario, co-producing with both Leslie and Oak and planning to make his introduction into the game as not only a producer and songwriter, but also as an artist.
He plans to keep his options open for now as far as signing to a label but plans to have a deal in the works by late 2008, and ultimately making an everlasting impression on the world.
“I want to bring the actual talent, the playing of instruments and the true meaning of life back to music because now everyone feels that they can be a songwriter, sing, produce, and do music but the truth is the value of real music has been devalued and I plan to bring that back,” says V-So in his studio with his fingers soaring across his keyboard.
Virtuoso is a musician with masterly ability, common technique or personal style, and multi talented V-So (which is an abbreviation of virtuoso), who was named this by his pastor who prophesied it, has proven this definition in ways that has and will be seen throughout the world sooner than later.
